As I was getting dressed to go see a pile of rocks that I can only imagine came to be by aliens, I figured I should wear an outfit nearly as perplexing. This patchwork, denim-on-denim look was perfect from the second I put it on. This top and jean combination wasn’t initially purchased to be worn together. The top isn’t even mine, actually, it’s Samantha’s. But the instant I combined these two pieces into a Canadian tuxedo, I knew it was meant to be. The proportions of the shirt perfectly flattered the high-waist of these inspired-by-mom jeans and the floral, cropped sweater broke up the denim. It wasn’t a simple way to break it up because of the florals, but I loved it for that. These jeans were easily one of my best purchases while here in London. I can dress then up for a fancy, London dinner with some chunky heels or down with booties and a loose, cropped sweater. I’m expecting I’ll be wearing them a lot with my new, leopard Birkenstocks (yes!) and a loose tank when I head back to sunny Southern California.
