A 2-week break from classes could mean nothing other than oodles of travels through Europe. First stop: Barcelona. We dreamed of something a bit warmer than London and a bit spicier, according to Samantha. And that’s just what we got. There was sunshine warm enough to allow us to walk everywhere through the uneven, eye-catching and gorgeously graffitied streets of Barcelona. The people had personality and warmth. The tapas were new and exciting, the paella discovered in a little alley still leaves our mouths watering for more, and the hot chocolate was one of a kind. We tried desserts filled with what we definitely would just say are bubbles and had shrimp eyes on many plates. We fell in love. And although it was a new city with a new culture and language, I couldn’t leave London behind completely (after all, it might be the greatest place I’ve ever been). I brought London to Barcelona through this outfit I wore one day as we wandered the streets. Nothing says London quite like a perfect mishmash of two things you wouldn’t expect syncing together – much like socks with sandals. But done right, they make me swoon. If the platforms mixed better with uneven pavement and didn’t work out muscles in my ankles I didn’t know I had, I would probably live in these sandals. Check back tomorrow for Sam’s first Barcelona outfit and much more travel style to come!
