Denim shorts are a staple in my spring and summer wardrobes. Especially my Levi’s. They’re perfectly worn in; So much so that one of the belt loops is broken. They’re not too short or too tight. The wash is perfection and they’re just damn perfect all around. When it’s warm outside, all I want to do when I get dressed is reach for these babies. But sometimes I need a look that’s a little more elevated. Think brunch on the water with girlfriends or a night out at a hip new spot. A dress or jumpsuit seems so appropriate and easy while my denim shorts seem comfy and like an option that will keep me cool. So yesterday I hit up a new, trendy spot in DTSA with my husband (LOVE IT) and friends and made my denim shorts work. The key ingredients to making this look more elevated and less casual are a killer third piece and show-stopping shoes. A block heeled sandal is a bit dressier than a flat one while still being comfortable.
